Emily DiMaggio, Dancer
Emily DiMaggio grew up in Fairfax Station, VA where she began her dance training at the age of three at a competition studio. She later went on to continue her dance education under the direction of Melissa Dobbs at a performing arts dance studio called Metropolitan Fine Arts Center, now known as Metropolitan School of the Arts, where she studied multiple styles of dance, acting, and singing. Upon graduating from high school, she was offered the Promising Young Artist Scholarship to the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, PA where she pursued a BFA in dance. There, she was fortunate to study under Donna Faye Burchfield, Michael Sheridan, Roni Koresh, Wayne St. David, Tommie Waheed-Evans, Justin Allen, and many more accomplished choreographers from around the country. In addition, she was the 2016 recipient of the Elizabeth Ann Pulaski Scholarship as a rising senior for her dance and academic performance. She earned a spot on the Dean’s List every semester and graduated with honors in May of 2017. Shortly after she graduated, she was signed to I.T.S. Model and Talent Management and is excited to see what her future holds under their name. Emily has attended intensive programs and taken several classes in New York and Los Angeles, including the Broadway Dance Center’s Professional Semester in 2014 and Millennium Dance Complex in 2016, in which she was lucky enough to take from well-known teachers Sheila Barker, Derek Mitchell, Al Blackstone, Hamilton Evans, Matt Steffanina, Wildabeast, Tricia Miranda, and many more. She also assisted Dee Caspery at the Pulse on Tour Nationals in New York City. She has performed in numerous local musicals and dance productions in Northern Virginia and Philadelphia. Emily continues to further herself as a dancer, model, and all-around performer. This is Emily's first season with Motion X Dance DC.
