Halle Elizabeth Schulman grew up in Louisville, Kentucky where she received her dance training at the Louisville Ballet School. Halle performed with the corps de ballet for the Louisville Ballet Company in the professional productions of Giselle, Coppélia, and the Nutcracker. She is a graduate of the Youth Performing Arts High School in Louisville. In 2016, she earned a BFA in Dance Performance from the Shenandoah Conservatory in Winchester, Virginia. Recently, she obtained a Masters of Science in Performing Arts Leadership and Management at Shenandoah. Halle has danced in residency under the direction of numerous world-renowned choreographers such as John Lehrer with the Lehrer Dance Company, Tara Compton with the Company E, and Stephanie Martinez, a freelance choreographer for several professional companies including Thodos Dance Chicago. While at Shenandoah, Halle taught all genres of dance for young, aspiring artists at the Inwood Performing Arts Center in Winchester, Virginia and throughout the DC Metro Community. She has also taught jazz and hip-hop classes as a guest artist and choreographer at the Louisville Ballet Pre-Professional Summer Dance Intensive for the past three years. In the summer of 2016, Halle served as the education outreach and development intern with the Omaha Community Playhouse in Omaha, Nebraska. While in Omaha, she ran a two-week dance workshop for Omaha’s Next Step Dancing with Maren. Halle has a genuine passion for educational initiatives within the arts. She has a true sense of arts advocacy and understands the importance of community outreach programs that allow her to perpetuate her love of the arts for future generations. Halle is eager to share this aspiration with the students of the Suzanne Farrell Ballet School this summer, where she will be employed under the John F. Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. In September, Halle will continue her journey in providing quality dance education for the students of the Metropolitan School for the Arts in their 2017-2018 school year. Halle currently serves as the Business and Marketing Director for Motion X Dance DC and is excited to join the company as a performing artist for a second season.
