PicturePhoto by Ruth Judson POLYSCOPE (2024)
Guest Appearance at DanceARTS Collide presented by Festival Ballet Virginia
Friday, May 16 & 17

Motion X will perform a shortened version of POLYSCOPE at DanceARTS Collide in Reston, VA. This sampling of pieces from the full length show provides a taste of the original work with highlights from some of the most inspiring moments! We are thrilled to bring this version back to the stage in such a beautiful venue! This performance is a celebration of collaboration, showcasing a variety of art forms including visual artists, spoken word, and opera vocals, all paired with diverse dance pieces from four different choreographers. This performance will also feature the premiere of "Teetering," choreographed by Stephanie Dorrycott: a collaboration of contemporary dance and visual art.

Finally, MIND x MOTION features the revival of “It’s On Her”, choreographed by Sammi Rosenfeld, which originally captivated audiences during its 2016 debut. This is Motion X's 7th performance as part of the Atlas Intersections Festival.

POLYSCOPE:
A collaboration of dance and multimedia

POLYSCOPE is a multimedia and contemporary dance performance examining a common human experience: the lifecycle of the wildfire we call “passion.”

If this spark is found in childhood, what does dancing around the flame look like throughout a lifetime? POLYSCOPE inspires audiences, young and old, to harness their passion as they navigate through life. The abstract visuals and dynamic movement come together to create a visual kaleidoscope of color, mirrors, and design.

POLYSCOPE premiered as part of the 2024 Atlas INTERSECTIONS Festival in Washington, DC on Friday, March 8, 2024.
